Spider-Man: Brand New Day Box Office Collection Worldwide Nears Record-Breaking Highs

The Spider-Man: Brand New Day box office collection worldwide is shaping up to be one of the defining commercial stories of 2026. Following positive reviews from both critics and audiences, the latest Marvel film is now aiming for the biggest opening of 2026 and one of the highest opening weekends ever for a Hollywood film.

A blockbuster debut weekend

Industry estimates suggest Sony Pictures expects the film to earn around $195 million during its opening weekend in North America from more than 4,300 theatres, with another $270 million projected internationally, pushing the expected worldwide opening to nearly $465 million. Should those numbers hold, Spider-Man: Brand New Day would comfortably surpass Toy Story 5’s $159.6 million opening to become the biggest Hollywood opener of the year.

Deadline’s projections paint an equally aggressive picture. The film is eyeing an estimated $465 million global debut with a striking 99% foreign footprint, which would rank as Sony’s biggest-reported global opening ever, behind only 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which launched with $600.5 million worldwide, and ahead of 2003’s Spider-Man 3, which opened with $381.6 million.

How it stacks up historically

Context is everything with numbers this large. No Way Home remains the biggest post-Covid opening and the third-biggest opening ever at the worldwide box office, trailing only 2019’s Avengers: Endgame at $1.22 billion and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War at $640.5 million. Among films released after the pandemic, Brand New Day is positioned to land third globally behind No Way Home and 2025’s Zootopia 2, and ahead of titles like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Avatar: The Way of Water.

Variety’s early tracking offered a similarly bullish outlook, noting the film was projected to earn at least $275 million to $300 million internationally, with the studio’s own estimates likely to be eclipsed once final numbers come in. For comparison, No Way Home opened to $327 million internationally and $587 million globally, the third-best worldwide start in history, while Infinity War still ranks as the No. 2 global debut at $640 million. Notably, Brand New Day cost a sizable $225 million to produce and is releasing day-and-date in China, a market No Way Home skipped entirely, though 2019’s Far From Home opened there to $95 million.

Early country-wise numbers

Real-time tracking data backs up the hype. Early country-wise figures list China at $35 million, the UK at $7.8 million, Mexico at $7.3 million, France at $6.75 million, South Korea at $4.8 million, Italy at $4.6 million, Brazil at $5 million, and Spain at $3.7 million, with the rest of the world contributing $25 million or more for an early running total of $100 million as of July 29, 2026.

Why Spider-Man keeps climbing

What makes this run particularly notable is how it defies broader industry trends. At a time when Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe has shown signs of box-office fatigue, Spider-Man continues to grow rather than plateau — a rare feat for a franchise this many films deep. Holland’s very first outing, 2017’s Homecoming, opened to $117 million domestically and closed its run at $880 million worldwide, and the trajectory has only climbed from there.

As tracking continues through the weekend, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day box office collection worldwide total is expected to be updated daily, with industry watchers closely monitoring whether it can challenge No Way Home’s historic $1.9 billion global run.
